How will the product be delivered?
Flo, our trusty F550 dump truck! Large and supersized loads are available in our quad axle dump truck if space is available.
How much do I need?
Good question! We've built this handy little calculator to help you with that.Average depth for landscape products
Mulch 2”- 4”
Cowsmo 2”- 4”
Topsoil depth is project specific
Landscape Rock 1”- 3”
Class Five 3”- 6” (patio) and 6”- 12” (Driveway)
When can I get it delivered? We deliver product Monday-Friday 8:00am-4pm
Saturday hours will be available in our peak season, mid April through the end of June.
NOTE: We can’t guarantee delivery times due to a variety of variables: time of year, seasonal demands, weather, daily schedule, trucking, traffic, staffing, global pandemics, etc.
Where will the delivery be placed?
We can deliver your material to one of four locations:Driveway
Parking pad
Boulevard
Street
Note: Your space must be 10' or wider to accommodate our delivery truck.
Do I need to be home?
Nope! We welcome and encourage you to place a sign marking your desired delivery location!Maximum load capacity per delivery
Mulch: 8 yards
Rock: 3.5 yards
Soils: 5 yards
If your order exceeds these amounts, it will have to be split into multiple deliveries.
Can I get any two products delivered at once?
We do not offer split loads, as dumping your order will invariably mix the products together. For example, an order of 1 yard yard of cowsmo, 1 yard of hardwood mulch, and 1 yard of class five would require three separate deliveries. That said, if you are looking to amend a garden bed with compost and cowsmo and don’t mind the products mixing together upon dumping, we can accommodate these types of mixed loads.

Our Topsoil and custom-made Garden Blend mix have been tested by the University of Minnesota’s Soil Testing Laboratory. Please visit the University’s Extension page on how to interpret the results.
This link (pages 10-12) explains the essential nutrients (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) in your soil or what issue may arise if they are too high or low. We’ve included the recommended N-P-K fertilizer ratio for each soil product. While you may not be able to find an exact match, it’s advised that you try to match the Nitrogen as close as possible without exceeding the recommended Phosphorus level.

Hiawatha Supply takes the issue of Jumping Worms very seriously. We are the home base of operations for our parent company Landscape Love. So, we are building and installing gardens all over the Twin Cities. Therefore, we simply will not use any poor quality landscape supplies from unreputable vendors because our own reputation is at stake. To address the Jumping Worm issue, we reached out to our vendors to find out what they were doing to handle the issue BEFORE it arrived in our supply yard. This is what we found out:
COWSMO “We do what kills jumping worms. Our compost, all of it, gets to a temperature of 130 degrees. Jumping worms die at 104. We ship on trucks that haul rock and not dirt.”
DALE GREEN TOPSOIL “We know the University and MNLA are looking at this species, but we have had our soils stockpiled for quite a while with no appreciable additions, and feel we are ok. Have not heard if they have any approaches for control.”
The MULCH STORE “Make sure to buy from compost suppliers, like The Mulch Store, that use active composting methods designed to further reduce pathogens. This process requires compost producers to make sure their product reaches high temperatures and turn piles on a schedule. When the process is followed and monitored, they will likely be able to stop the spread of jumping worms and their eggs.”
Our Premium Hardwood is simply too hot for worms to live in. Trust us on that. Or come to the lot and feel the steam come off the pile while we scoop it!
While we can’t guarantee our soil is 100% free of Jumping Worms we have addressed the issue head on with all of our vendors. In addition to this, we do not recycle or reuse soil that is brought into Hiawatha Supply. All of the soil disposal that we accept is trucked off the property to a facility that processes it. We do not buy soil from these places to bring back in.
