Note, we can deliver materials in quarter-yard increments, so round up or down accordingly when you place the order.

Recommended Depth of Materials

For optimal results, use the following depths when applying materials:

Mulch: 2-4 inches (1/2 to 1 inch for top dressing existing mulch beds)

Rock: 2 inches or more for coverage

Soil: 6-12 inches for new garden beds; 4-6 inches for sod

Class 5: Typically used as a base layer for driveways and patios, we recommend a depth of 4-6 inches for proper compaction and stability.

Sand (for Patios): Used as a base and leveling material for patio pavers, we recommend a depth of 1-2 inches for leveling and installation of pavers.
